University College London
The coursework at UCL is rigorous and structured differently from what I am used to. Instead of daily assignments or exercises, my only assessment was a research paper at the end of the term for each course. The skills that I learned from writing research papers have proved incredibly useful. I got very comfortable with journal databases and citation managers.
The research paper I was most proud of was for my Global Health Policy course. The prompt seemed simple at first, but turned out to be incredibly complex. Writing this paper, and the others, helped me develop the critical skills of being able to break down an argument into clear assumptions and synthesize information clearly and concisely.
